5 ways to feel more comfortable on camera 🎥
I‘m currently taking the course «Minimum Viable Video» from Cam Houser and Julia Saxena, where I learn how to get more confident on camera. I struggled first, but here are 5 ways to get more confidence.
1. Put a smiley face next to your lens 🙂
This is a simple trick to feel more connected. Just use a post-it-note
with a hand-drawn smiley and stick it next to your lens.
2. Breath 💨
Before starting a take – inhale, hold, exhale longer than you inhale.
3. Change your posture ☝
If you lift your head and straighten your spine, your diaphragm is able to move more freely. Try to ground yourself by placing your feet flat on the floor. This strengthens your voice. It really makes a difference.
„Change your posture. Change your voice“.
4. The Spotlight Effect 🔦
There is a tendency that we notice flaws about ourselves, that we wouldn‘t notice in others. So get over your bad hair day or a little wrinkle in your shirt. Nobody cares.
5. Do the reps 💪
